Visiting KSC’s Offices
Sponsoring a child involves providing a monthly allowance that covers their school fees and daily expenses, ensuring they have access to education and basic necessities. To begin the process, you need to visit Kurdistan Save the Children’s main Office in Slemani or any other regional offices in Erbil, Kirkuk, Duhok, Halabja, Chamchamal, Qaladize, Kalar or Koya.
Child Eligibility
Child sponsorship, according to KSC’s principles, typically children under 15 years old are eligible for the sponsorship. This commitment can extend even after they turn 15 if you wish to continue supporting them.
Preventing Child Labour and Early Marriage
KSC’s principles prioritize preventing child labor and child marriage, by sponsoring a child; you are helping to keep them in school, unmarried and away from child labour. KSC’s social workers actively work to educate families and encourage children to stay in school.
Meeting the Child
Once you have selected the child based on the information and vulnerability indicators provided by our officers and social workers; you can visit the child if you wish to do so. After that, you will be asked to fill out a sponsorship form at KSC’s Fundraising department. Then, your application will be approved by the Sponsorship and Finance departments, and your sponsorship journey will start, during the proses you have the opportunity to build a meaningful connection with the child you sponsor, you can send them gifts and letters, and you’ll receive New Year and thank you letters from them. This interaction fosters a sense of connection and encouragement.
