Child Friendly Space
The Child Friendly Space was a one year project funded by UNICEF. This project started on the 10/7/2016 and ended on the 10/7/2017. The aim of the project was providing psychosocial support to refugee and internally displaced children aged 5-17 in Ashty/Arbat Camp, Barzinja/Sharbazher Camp, Tazade/Kalar Camp and the Piramagrun area. As well as working to strengthen family and community standards in protecting children through case management and awareness.
Children at the Child Friendly Spaces participated in daily recreational activities such as music, art, handcrafts, theatre and sport activities. Through these activities professional social workers were able to identify children who are in need of psychological, social, financial or medical support. The total number of beneficiaries in the 2nd half of the project was 20,314 children and the number of children provided with follow up care for their issues and support was 696 children.
