On November 25, 2024, in observance of the anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Kurdistan Save the Children (KSC) organized a seminar for the staff of the Executive Force in Erbil. The seminar focused on Child Protection Issues and the Declaration of Children's Rights, aiming to familiarize the staff with children's fundamental rights.

KSC and UNHCR Celebrate 16 Days of Activism with Refugee Children in Erbil

On November 25, 2024, Kurdistan Save the Children (KSC), in partnership with UNHCR, marked the 16th Day of Combating Violence Against Women at the Sports and Youth Center in Baharka, Erbil.
The event highlighted the talents of refugee girls, who showcased their creativity through crafts, painting, theater, poetry, music, and dance. These performances celebrated their resilience and success stories, promoting the message of combating violence against women.
KSC continues to empower refugee children by providing them with opportunities to express themselves and flourish.

In honor of the anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Kurdistan Save the Children (KSC) held a seminar at Koshi English Non-Governmental School on November 24, 2024. The seminar focused on Child Protection Issues and the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, educating children about their rights and how to protect them.
The event empowered students to understand and embrace their rights, promoting advocacy for their safety and well-being. Through interactive discussions, KSC reinforced the importance of child protection and global efforts to uphold children’s rights.

Kurdistan Save the Children Launches Urgent Campaign to Combat Diarrhea Outbreak in Sharazur

Kurdistan Save the Children (KSC) has launched an emergency campaign in response to a diarrhea and vomiting outbreak in Sharazur district, triggered by heavy rains and flooding that contaminated drinking water with sewage.
In collaboration with local health and education authorities, KSC is implementing measures to protect over 15,000 residents, including:
Distributing hand sanitizers to students.
Providing essential medicines to hospitals.
Raising hygiene awareness through public sessions.
Sanitizing water storage facilities to prevent further contamination.
Over 500 children are currently hospitalized, highlighting the severity of the crisis.
“Our teams are working tirelessly to contain the outbreak and prevent future infections,” said KSC President Sara Rashid.
The campaign reflects KSC’s commitment to safeguarding children’s health and supporting vulnerable communities during crises.










KSC and CLEFT Sign MOU on Slemani’s 240th Anniversary to Strengthen Cleft Care Partnership

In a historic moment marking the 240th anniversary of Slemani, Kurdistan Save the Children (KSC) and the CLEFT Organization have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), further deepening their partnership that began in 2012. Dr. Brian Sommerlad, Chairman of CLEFT, signed the agreement on behalf of the organization.
The new MOU sets a clear path forward in our joint commitment to improving cleft care for children across the Kurdistan Region and beyond. Together, KSC and CLEFT will focus on the following key goals:
Developing a Specialized Cadre of Medical Professionals: We are dedicated to training a new generation of surgeons and medical staff in the specialized field of cleft lip and palate care in Iraq.
Enhancing Treatment Facilities: The MOU emphasizes the development of cutting-edge treatment centers and facilities to better serve children in need of cleft care.
Sharing Expertise: Our collaboration will enable the sharing of advanced surgical techniques and treatment planning, ensuring high-quality care.
Mobilizing Resources for Sustainable Care: Both organizations are committed to ensuring that children affected by cleft conditions receive long-term, sustainable care.
